What happen to Sean Monterrosa?
On the evening of June 2, 2020 Sean Monterrosa, aged 22, was shot and killed by an unnamed officer that the community later identified as Jarrett Tonn. Tonn and two other officers were called to the area on reports of looting at around 12:30am while the city was under a curfew in response to looting and alleged riots. Sean Monterrosa was in the parking lot in Vallejo, California Walgreens on his knees with his hands up when Tronn shot a total of five times through the unmarked police vehicles’ windshield as they approached without bringing the vehicle to a complete stop.
Note: There was a police investigation opened shortly after involving the alleged destruction of evidence from that night.
UPDATE: Police lieutenants Herman Robinson and Michael Nichelini have been fired. Jarrett Tonn has not been fired, charged, or arrested.
