What happen to Patrick Warren Sr.?
On the Sunday evening of January 10th, 2021, in Killeen Texas, the family of 52-year-old Patrick Warren, Sr. made a call for assistance from a mental health professional. Instead, Patrick was met with officer Reynaldo Contreras of The Killeen Police Department. According to the issued police statement, Reynaldo Contreras "encountered an emotionally distressed man," to which Contreras utilized his "conducted energy weapon", and when ineffective, his firearm.
Although the moments leading up to Patrick's death were unclear, within five minutes of arrival, Patrick was shot three times, unarmed, on his front lawn, in front of his family. Patrick died shortly at the hospital from the injuries he sustained.
Reynaldo Contreras of The Killeen Police Department has been put on administrative leave, and an investigation has been said to be issued. Reynaldo Contreras has not been arrested or fired.
