Case Overview of QUAWAN CHARLES

What happen to Quawan Charles?

On October 30th, 2020, at Baldwin, Louisiana, Quawan “ Bobby” Charles was reported missing by his family. Quawan Charles had left his home but never returned, he was only 15 years old. No Amber Alert was filed and local media was not alerted by police. Four days later, on November 3nd Quawan Charles was to be found a few days later, dead and disposed of in a sugarcane field, 20 miles from his home.

17-year-old Gavin Irvin and his mother Janet Irvin were later found to have picked up Quawan from his home around 3 pm, the day of his disappearance, without the permission of his parents. Recovered phone calls revealed that Gavin and Janet might have been under the influence of psychedelic drugs at the time. The days after Quawan’s disappearance, Janet Irvin’s car also allegedly had a strong smell of bleach.

Quawan’s parents were told by the Sheriff's office that Qiawan’s cause of death was drowning. However, the extremities of injuries to Quawans body said otherwise. Quan ``Bobby” Charles was lynched, Quawan was torched and disfigured. A recording has resurfaced of Tyler Legros admitting to having smoked with Quawan Charles in their home, Tyler Legros is Janet Irvin’s boyfriend. Quan Charles’s case is being compared to that of, 14-year-old Emmit Till, who was lynched brutally in 1955.

104 days later, Janey Irvin has been charged with the felony of failing to report a missing child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Tyler Legros has not been arrested.
